Shut your door all of the way and take a look at the crack between the door and the frame.
How to level a door hinge.
When the wood expands and contracts it can cause the frame to become uneven.
Use a bubble level and carpenter s square to determine if the door frame itself is level.
Install shims behind other hinges if necessary.
Hold the bubble level against the door jamb s left and right sides and top and check to see if the bubble settles between the viewer s two lines.
Close the door and check the spacing.
Lay a level along the outer edge of your door.
Next using the same hand screwdriver adjust the screw that s facing the center style of the cabinet.
If you need more of an adjustment than a quarter of an inch you may need to loosen the screws you used to hang the cabinet.
Look for places where the spacing is uneven such as near the top or the bottom of the door to figure out which hinge needs to be shimmed.
Try this only if drawing in the hinges doesn t work.
Determine whether the door is leaning outward from the top or the bottom.
Set two or three cardboard shims in the hinge mortises on the door and jamb then replace the hinge.
