The frames of shower doors are somewhat flimsy and weak and so stuffing a town in between the frame and the towel bar won t help it to stay together.
They become loose over time and will pull out if not repaired.
Use a mixture of vinegar and hot water or any glass cleanser.

How to repair the towel bars on sliding shower doors.
Most the time simply taking a screwdriver and tightening the screws will re secure the towel bar and keep it from wobbling or coming loose.
Lock down the suction cups.
Loosen the set screws under the towel bar and remove it from the wall.
You may have to use a larger screw to get some bite from the handle.
When towel bars come loose it s usually because they weren t well fastened in the first place.
Remove the screws that attach to the hinges and place them safely away from the shower drain.
Then unscrew the mounting plate from the wall and remove the old anchors.
Insert toggle bolts in each bracket.
Don t use a longer screw as this may push through the back of the towel bar.
In the event that tightening the screws does not help you may need to remove the wall mounts and reinstall the towel bar.
The easy fix is to simply tighten the screws until snug.
Covering the drain with a washcloth can help prevent losing items while you work remove the door completely and pull the screws free.
Rather use a screw with slightly larger threads.
Once in place press firmly a second time at the center post to make sure it is all the way on and all air is removed.
Others have a decorative cover that hides the screws.
Loosen the bracket screws and remove the brackets from the wall.
Tighten the toggle bolts so the brackets are secure.
No need for plaster repair or drywall etc.
Remove the lower guide rail lift up on the shower door and remove it from the tracks place the door on a flat.
After the door has dried attach the towel bar in place by pressing the suction cups against the glass.
