The wrong way is a temporary fix not cool.
Ever try tightening a screw and it just keeps turning and doesn t grab.
This applies to holes drilled in wood and isn t meant for sheetrock.

Maybe the kids swung on a gate and pulled the hinge screws out or a cupboard door was swung too wide and the screws pulled right out.
I had tried the toothpick and glue method shown here in the past on another door in the house when something similar happened involving a gaggle of giggling teenagers.
Remove the screws that hold the loose hinge leaf to the door jamb.
The screws pulled out of the door and the holes were permanently stripped.
Fix it the right way not the wrong way.
Then bore out the stripped holes.
If you have a heavy door that seems to have a loose hinge it could be that either the door hinge screws are stripped or the screw hole is stripped.
This is the fix.
Like most ordinary folks we enjoy privacy during bathroom time so i needed to fix it.
The first fix you can try is to replace the stripped out screw with one that is slightly longer or that has a slightly larger diameter.
The threads on the new screws should have either the same type of threads as the old screw or threads that are slightly coarser and more aggressive.
If the hinge and jamb are painted cut the paint around the leaf with a utility knife swing the leaf away from the jamb.
This is not how i usually would do this fix but thought people would like the mi.
Or better yet use a screw that is both larger with a higher gauge number and longer.
Open the door wide and insert a wedge under the bottom outside corner to level it.
