Hi gloss laminates do catch finger marks as well as scratches like other hi gloss surfaces. Acrylic cabinets are preferred for high end kitchens with a gloss finish. Laminate cabinets are also available in gloss finish but the look is dull less reflective and less striking as compared to acrylic cabinets. Also as with acrylic the use of hi gloss laminates is limited to plane straight line applications.

Though laminates are also available in a glossy finish they are comparatively less reflective leaving the overall look less striking. A premium high gloss option acrylic is the preferred option for high end kitchens. Acrylic cabinets with premium high gloss finish are the preferred option for high end kitchens as it can add visual space and an appealing interest hence increasing the décor value of the kitchen. Therefore matte finish laminates which are comparatively maintenance free are often preferred for the kitchen.
